Long is the owner of a private security business called Patriot Protection LLC. “We are a private security company and we do a little bit of everything in the security world. Some examples, I’ve done security for a country artist from Wyoming…I’ve done concert security for him and we do training for bouncers… I used to be the head of security at the Buckhorn in Laramie. Prior to being there the bouncers didn’t have any training, and so while I was there I made sure the bouncers were trained and got rid of some of the bad apples that were kind of causing some problems,” says Long.

Long’s company has fallen on hard times during the Covid-19 pandemic. “The virus pretty much shut down the majority of my contracts. A few of my clients have canceled their contracts due to just not being busy enough to afford the additional cost of having security, and a lot of places themselves have closed down so they don’t require security.”

Long is selling his business limousine. “The story behind it is that I bought it from a guy on Facebook six months ago in Cheyenne. My goal was to fix it up so I could use it for my business, and unfortunately with the Covid lockdowns and quarantining it’s just one of the company assets that’s the first to go… but the use for it was for transporting our VIP clients.”

Long explained the style and condition of the limousine, and the work he put into fixing it. “It has definitely been heavily used. It’s got over 200,000 miles on it – it’s a 1998 Lincoln Town Car limo… I’ve had it for six months, a few of those months were getting it prepared. It had a transmission problem, so I had the transmission replaced, and I’ve done a few other minor things to it. The engine runs good, the transmission runs good, suspension on all the mechanical things run really good… I think some people have just kind of made their own alterations to it over the years.”

“I am optimistic about the future, and hopefully the limo goes off to someone who can put it to good use. Hopefully things go back to a little bit more normal for everybody and we can all kind of get back to business.”
