Local Artist Offering Subscriptions to her “Cheer Mail” Project

A full-time local artist and stay at home mom, Tara Pappas is offering subscriptions to her “Cheer Mail” project with the hope to connect and bring joy to Laramie community members. This twelve-month long project gives subscribers access to a monthly art piece through a print of the painting mailed to their house, a time lapse video of the creation of the painting, and digital copies to print on their own. Subscribers can also take part in the creation of pieces by giving feedback and making suggestions for future paintings.

Pappas says she started this project because, “it originated from a desire to help during this time, just thinking about what my artwork brings to the table to help people get through this hard and unknowing time.” Each subscription is $10 a month with options to purchase subscriptions for friends and family members as well. If subscribers pay in full upfront for the whole twelve months, only $8 a month will be charged. See links below to subscribe.

Pappas considers herself a mixed media artist, and in this series of paintings she will be using watercolor, acrylics, and ink. Her style focuses on lighthearted scenes filled with children and animals, with a touch of whimsy and magic. Pappas is currently working on a self-published children’s book of her illustrations scheduled to debut in November.

“I want to reach people on all levels,” Pappas explains. “I know I like to maintain that childlike sense of wonder, I think every adult has that to some degree, and I play with that idea in my artwork.” Her artwork seeks to resonate with all ages and to bring a smile to the faces of her viewers.

“Often times, when people come to my art show,” Pappas says. “I’ll watch them come up and look at my art and their faces just light up and they’ll start to smile. Using that strength in my work, I wanted to bring joy to other people through this project.”
