Only in Laramie: The Kindness of Strangers

Browse By

I must admit, I have had a very emotional and difficult week. The combination of having to put my dog down, being in a car accident (neither party was injured), and receiving some traumatic personal news, made getting through the past few days quite a challenge. Through the hardships however, the people of Laramie have stepped up to the plate.

A few days ago, I found an anonymous note on my parked car that had a positive affirmation along with a cute drawing. All over town, I have noticed similar notes on cars and on the doors of buildings, a stranger’s attempt to brighten the world one message at a time. To add to the joy, this morning the person in front of me in the Starbucks drive through anonymously paid for my coffee, a small gesture yet a wonderful start to my day!

These anonymous acts of compassion reminded me how truly special Laramie is, only in Laramie can I rely on the kindness of strangers to put a smile on my face during a difficult week.
