A Slice of Laramie is getting back to nature

Every year my extended family rents a cabin in West Virginia and spends a week hiking and camping together. West Virginia is a little far for us to join them every year, but this year we’re going! Which means I have to get my kids used to hiking.

I got lucky and found a pair of hiking boots for my oldest at NU2U. I traded in his old pair, so if you need hiking boots for a 10-year-old, definitely check there first. Now that we all have shoes we have to actually go on some hikes. If you don’t hear from me next week we got lost in Curt Gowdy.

If I survive, I’d love your recommendations for good hikes in the area! Bonus points if they are easy for kids and an out-of-shape woman in her 30s.
