As summer approaches, we start to look forward to those fun outdoor activities. You can now add going to Cowboy field to watch the Gem City Bison to your list. The Gem City Bison are a collegiate baseball team that will kick off their inaugural season starting May 24th for a 60 game season. Tickets are available and start out at $8 for general admission, $12 for preferred seating, and $8 for the party zones which will have grass seating for picnics and family fun. Host families will have tickets provided to them.

Part owner and head of operations and sponsorships, Lee Griebe on this upcoming season said, “I want us to give Laramie one of the best atmospheres and experiences they can get, to where you have a family that can bring their kids to the game that’s affordable and just a good time, or it’s wholesome family fun coming out to our games.”

While talking with the owners and management at their press briefing at Bond’s Brewing Company, they all made the point of wanting to be involved with the community. Part owner Austin Byler said, “I think the biggest thing is, investment from the community, and building relationships within the community and to impact the youth and really just be a key staple here for years to come, and make an incredible experience for our fans and our players.”

The Gem City Bison will have a number of players from Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, North and South Dakota, Arizona, and the West Coast. After talking with part owner Aaron Nielsen about the players, he said “All of our players that come in, we are consistently helping them be the best version of themselves through our early outs and those other programs. Wins and losses are not controllable, we’re just gonna put the best version of ourselves on the field.

As a part of being a part of the community, the Gem City Bison are also interested in working with businesses around Laramie. General Manager Jason Ground said, “Every business that is interested and open to working with us, we would love to hear from them to promote them, promote us. You know, create all these positive associations, so anybody who wants to, anybody who’s interested in it, anybody who wants to come on board, can reach out to us by going to gemcitybison.com or get in touch through our social media, we’re very responsive.”
