United Way of Albany County’s Campaign Kickoff

United Way of Albany County hosted a 2022 Campaign Kickoff last Thursday, September 29th at the University of Wyoming Art Museum. The kickoff event consisted of hors d’oeuves, special guest appearances, and exciting announcements about United Way achievements.

University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel and his wife Dr. Gabriella Allen were special guests at the event and were announced as the United Way 2022 Campaign Chairs as well as major donors themselves to the campaign.

Alongside President Seidel and Dr. Allen, other special appearances were made at United Way’s event. Pistol Pete, the UW football team mascot, joined in the festivities last Thursday, and Miss Wyoming also made an appearance. The Miss Wyoming 2022 title is held by Hazel Homer-Wambeam, a UW student who will be competing for the title of Miss America in December.

The biggest announcement made at the event was that United Way has raised $182,483 through their early donors, with he ultimate goal of raising $545,000. These early donors include Albany County businesses as well as individuals in the community.

United Way of Albany County is a volunteer-based non-profit organization that raises and distributes funds to 16 participating agencies in the Laramie area. The money raised through the organization goes to supporting the following agencies:
