First Lady Jennie Gordon’s Wyoming Hunger Initiative, in collaboration with multiple agencies in Albany County, will host a community meal on June 14, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at LaBonte Park in Laramie. The event aims to provide a meal and highlight available resources for veterans in Albany County.

Wyoming Hunger Initiative supports grassroots anti-hunger organizations throughout the state. The event will serve as a networking opportunity, offering access to community resources and a meal provided by Operation 307 Vet Connect.

“Our priority is addressing food insecurity and ensuring veterans have access to resources,” says First Lady Jennie Gordon. She hopes to create year-round opportunities for veterans to connect with community resources.

Transportation and meal deliveries will be provided upon request. Veterans can sign up by contacting Volunteers of America at (307) 745-8915. The event will take place at LaBonte Park, located near the basketball court at Canby and 8th Street.

This collaborative effort involves various organizations, including Volunteers of America, the Cent$ible Nutrition Program, Laramie Interfaith, Cathedral Home, and more.
