Laramie is set to host the Albany County Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Sept. 16, bringing together caregivers, loved ones, and supporters of those with Alzheimer’s disease. Organized by the Alzheimer’s Association of Wyoming, this event aims to raise funds for essential services and research.
Part of seven Wyoming Walks in 2023, the Laramie Walk seeks to raise $32,500, contributing to a collective goal of $143,500. These funds support vital Alzheimer’s Association of Wyoming services without charge.
Alzheimer’s affects 6.7 million Americans and ranks as the seventh-leading cause of death without a cure. Robin McIntyre, Development Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association of Wyoming, emphasizes the urgency to address this issue.
The Walk not only aids families and caregivers but also fuels Alzheimer’s research. The Alzheimer’s Association funds over $320 million in research across 54 countries.
