In an inspiring display of unity and compassion, a unique event is on the horizon. “Yoga for Peace By Donation” is scheduled for Monday, November 20th, from 7 PM to 8 PM. This distinctive yoga practice, focusing on peace, comes with a heartwarming twist: it’s a gesture of support for Native women in need through the remarkable work of Mother Nation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Nurturing Through Sisterhood

Mother Nation’s mission revolves around delivering social and cultural healing services for Native women, offering spiritual nurturing, stability, and inspiration through sisterhood. Their range of services includes cultural healing circles, homeless prevention, mentorship, workshops, and training. The ultimate objective is to empower Native women, nurture their natural leadership, and revive the cultural strength of Native communities globally.

A Deeper Meaning

The question arises: why is this practice and fundraiser so significant? It’s crucial to raise awareness and provide support to organizations like Mother Nation, particularly during Thanksgiving, a day marked by mourning and grief for many Native People. This event serves as a tribute to the indigenous people who were the original custodians of the land where we practice yoga today. The goal is to create a space that fosters peacefulness and compassion while acknowledging the historical pain and loss of these indigenous communities.

Where We Gather

The event will take place at Seek Yoga Studio, situated on the ancestral and traditional lands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Crow, Shoshone Indigenous peoples, and other Native tribes who call the Great Basin and Rocky Mountain region home.
