Relative Theatrics Presents Rachel Bublitz’s BURST

Relative Theatrics is proud to present BURST by Rachel Bublitz, in partnership with Wyoming Women’s Business Center and UW Honors. The play runs April 5th through April 13th with audience members sitting on the stage of the LPCC Gryphon Theatre. This gripping drama examines the thin line between pursuing one’s dream and megalomania. Get ready for “a fast and fresh evening of theater.”

This “clear, compelling, important, and thoroughly engaging” new play is directed by Kim Lockhart and features Anna McClow, Bailey Patterson, and Anna Victor. Featured in the 2022 Playwrights Voiced Festival of New Works, BURST is “a tightrope walk of a play that delves into the meaty terrain of women relationships in business and power and ethics in Silicon Valley.”

Sarah Boyd is an extraordinary human being. Not only did she build her company from scratch using nothing but willpower and fortitude, she also sits on the precipice of truly saving this planet. Because on top of being one of the fastest growing tech companies in history, Tactix, with Sarah at its helm, will usher this planet into the post-plastic era. A time where we need not worry or fret over the great destruction being done to our world from this non-biodegradable foe. With her eyes steady on her next round of funding, Sarah must persevere through a late night interview with a particularly tough reporter, a lawsuit aimed at a person from her past, and the waffling of her CTO. It’s a heavy load, and Sarah knows that she is the only one great enough to bear it.

For this production, Relative Theatrics has partnered with the Wyoming Women’s Business Center, a valuable local non-profit that empowers entrepreneurs, especially women, through counseling, training, and micro-finance programs to start, expand, and sustain small businesses in the state of Wyoming. The partnership aims to inspire education and advocacy for the mission of the partnered entity in order to involve local citizens and to spark conversations about the organization’s purpose and impact.

The opening performance is Friday, April 5th, at 7:30 pm, with seating beginning at 7:00 pm. Last seating will take place at 7:27 pm. Performances continue on April 10th at 7:30 pm.
