“We have rentals, you can rent the stand-up paddle boards and inflatable kayaks and kitchen type gear… We also accept consignment outdoor gear specific for getting yourself on the water… hopefully we can get your used gear to someone else who can use it. ”

Flock talks about why her and her partner Dewey Gallegos decided to open the Paddle House along with the other business they already owned, The Pedal House, a bike shop also located in downtown Laramie. “Dewey and I bought the Pedal House in 2010 and it was already an established bicycle sales service shop… We were discussing how we wanted both a rafting and cycling retail rental type shop… that was sort of a dream in our life. Dewey prefers to ride a bike, I prefer to go on the river but we weren’t able to have both shops… for the past ten years I’ve been working on making this a reality because it is my love. I love rafting and paddling and being on the river and the lakes… these (shops) are a good opportunity to have something we are both passionate about.”

Flock describes a few of the many places near Laramie that you can use paddle boards and boats, as well as engage in other water activities. “There are a few different places both close by and far away. The Laramie River is for a quaint day float basically… they can go to an hour west of town, there is a section called North Gate through the North Platte River. ”
