As 2025 begins, the City of Laramie is looking back on key achievements from last year. Thanks to community efforts, here are eight ways Laramie made progress in 2024:
Spring Creek Trail Phase 1 Complete – The first section of this new trail opened, giving residents a great place to walk, run, and bike. The goal is to eventually connect 30th to 3rd Street.
Wastewater Facility Energy Upgrades – The city improved its wastewater facility, cutting energy use by up to 50 percent and earning a $352,300 rebate from Rocky Mountain Power.
Human Rights and Relations Commission – A new city commission was created to promote equality and inclusion for all Laramie residents.
New Public Art – Three new sculptures were installed around town, adding creativity and character to public spaces.
Volunteer Program Expansion – The city launched a new volunteer platform, including “Snow Angels,” a program helping residents clear snow from their homes.
New Stores Opened – Homebase, Ulta Beauty, and Ross joined Laramie’s retail scene, bringing more shopping options to town.
EMS Transfer Services Agreement – Ivinson Memorial Hospital will take over medical transfer services in September 2025, allowing for more efficient emergency care.
Mental Health Support – The Albany Care Team was formed to help law enforcement respond to mental health crises with support from mental health professionals.
Laramie continues to grow and improve, and 2025 is set to bring even more progress.
