The University of Wyoming Department of Music choral studies area invites the Laramie community to two free public performances as part of the “Cowboys, Sing On!” festival, a two-day event celebrating choral music.
On Friday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m., the Showcase Performance will take place at the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. This concert will feature the Laramie Civic Chorus, the Laramie Children’s Chorus, and the UW Collegiate Chorale, along with a variety of talented instrumentalists and vocalists. The concert will be conducted by UW faculty members O’Neil Jones and Brian Murray, with additional performances by guest conductors and musicians.
The festival will conclude with the Festival Performance on Saturday, March 1, at 3 p.m., also held at the concert hall. This performance will feature festival participants—students in grades 7-12—performing alongside UW choirs, including the Happy Jacks, the Singing Statesmen, and Bel Canto. The event will showcase a diverse lineup of choral arrangements under the direction of UW faculty and guest conductors.
Both performances are free and open to the public, providing an excellent opportunity for the Laramie community to experience outstanding choral music. Music lovers of all ages are encouraged to attend and support these talented singers and musicians.
