Music lovers in Laramie are in for a treat! The University of Wyoming’s Department of Music is hosting a special performance by renowned Brazilian pianist Ney Fialkow on Tuesday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Recital Hall. Best of all? It’s free!
Fialkow’s recital, titled The Art of Brazilian Piano Music, will showcase the rich, vibrant sounds of Brazil through the works of composers like Vagner Cunha, Camargo Guarnieri, Claudio Santoro, Radamés Gnáttali, and Francisco Mignone.
Who Is Ney Fialkow?
Hailing from Brazil, Fialkow is an award-winning pianist who has wowed audiences all over the world. He won the prestigious Eldorado Music Prize in São Paulo and has played with some of the finest orchestras and musicians. His musical journey started at just 18 years old when he performed with the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra, and since then, he has built an impressive career as a soloist, teacher, and recording artist.
