Andrea Senior: Bringing Personalized Insurance to Laramie Through Western Skies

Andrea Senior, a Laramie native, has built her business, Western Skies Insurance, with a deep commitment to the community. Born and raised in Laramie, Andrea’s journey into insurance was inspired by her father, a retired firefighter who took over an insurance agency to help a friend. When her father decided to step away from the industry, Andrea saw an opportunity to take the reins.

“I had been working at the 911 Center for about ten years when my dad approached me about buying the agency,” Andrea explains. “I had some experience helping him out when he needed staff support, so I took the leap. It was a big change, but it gave me the chance to step away from shift work and build something of my own.”

Initially working as a Farmers Insurance agent, Andrea eventually realized she wanted more flexibility to offer her clients the best possible options. “Farmers is a great company, but I wanted to be able to provide the best solutions for my clients, especially businesses,” she says. “So, I took the independent route, which was terrifying at first but absolutely the right decision.”

Laramie Roots and Community Focus

Andrea’s love for Laramie is evident, even if she jokes about the weather. “I absolutely spite the wind here! But what that weather gives us is a small-town feel without big-city congestion. I love that I can go to the grocery store and know most of the people there.”

This close-knit community feel has influenced how she runs her business. “Everything in Laramie is based on relationships,” she says. “In bigger cities, many agents don’t even meet their clients in person. Here, people want to do business face-to-face. If someone has a house fire, they don’t want to call an 800 number—they want to sit down with someone who knows them and can help them through it. That’s what we offer.”

Giving Back

Beyond insurance, Andrea is dedicated to giving back through her involvement with the Albany County Fair Board and the Laramie Police Department Foundation. “We are only as good as the effort we put into making our community stronger,” she says. “It has always been my opinion that if God chooses to bless me, that those blessings should be passed on. My dream is to leave a legacy where kids don’t know who I am, but they benefit from the work we’ve done—whether it’s a better fairgrounds or another community project.”

What Makes Western Skies Different?

Andrea prides herself on running an agency that values honesty and integrity above all else. “I’ve empowered my employees to always do what’s right for the client. Sometimes that means telling someone they should stay where they are instead of switching to us. Not every insurance agency does that, but we believe in doing what’s best, not just making a sale.”

For those looking for insurance, Andrea and her team at Western Skies Insurance are ready to help. “We’re here Monday through Friday, all day. We don’t even take lunch breaks! You can call us, check out our website, or just stop by. We love doing business face-to-face.”

Andrea’s dedication to personalized service and community involvement makes Western Skies Insurance more than just a business—it’s a true part of Laramie’s fabric.
