When local runner and veteran Konea Dory learned that several of her firefighter friends had been injured in a structural collapse earlier this year, she felt called to act. What began as concern quickly turned into purpose—organizing a fundraiser that combines fitness, community, and gratitude. With support from the Laramie Plains Lions Club, that idea has become The Red Line Grind 5K/10K Run · Walk · Ruck.

Set for Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. in Optimist Park, this event welcomes everyone—runners, walkers, and ruckers alike—to move in support of local heroes. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just showing up to show support, there’s a place for you at the start line.
Registration opens bright and early at 5:30 a.m., but you can also pre-register online via the Facebook Event Page or by scanning the QR code on the event flyer. Entry fees are $55 for adults, $40 for youth (ages 5–13), and free for children under 5. Payment is accepted the day of.
Early birds take note: the first 100 registrants will receive event swag, and everyone is entered into a raffle drawing just for participating. Prizes will be awarded for first and last place finishers—because it’s about heart, not just speed.
After you cross the finish line, enjoy a cold one courtesy of The Buckhorn Bar, where participants age 21 and up (with bib in hand) can head to a reserved keg in the back room. And for non-drinkers or underage participants, The Soda Pit will be on-site serving up refreshing beverages.
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the firefighters recovering from their injuries—members of our community who have given so much in service.
If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is your moment. Let’s show up for our firefighters the way they’ve always shown up for us.
