Ivinson Memorial Hospital has announced that Dr. Tim Kirsch is its new Chief Medical Officer.

That means Dr. Kirsch will help lead doctors and medical staff at the hospital while also continuing to care for patients.

Dr. Kirsch has more than 20 years of medical experience and has already been part of the Ivinson team since 2021. Many people in Laramie may recognize him from his work providing anesthesia care during surgeries. He has also served as the hospital’s anesthesia medical director for several years.

One reason Ivinson chose Dr. Kirsch for this role is that he still works directly with patients. Hospital leaders say this helps him understand what doctors, nurses, and patients experience every day — and helps the hospital make better decisions.

“I’m honored to serve my community in this new role,” Dr. Kirsch said. He shared that he looks forward to working with hospital staff to make sure patients continue to receive high-quality, personalized care.

Dr. Kirsch is a Wyoming native. He earned his medical degree from Creighton University and completed advanced medical training in Cincinnati.

Ivinson Memorial Hospital says adding a Chief Medical Officer is an important step in improving communication, supporting medical staff, and continuing to provide strong healthcare for the Laramie community.

Dr. Kirsch accepted the position earlier this month.
