I really enjoy seeing all the different types of masks people are sporting in public places around Laramie. I like the different fabrics and designs. You can tell some are homemade, which is really impressive to someone like me who has no sewing skills.
This week I learned how to properly wear an N95 mask. I popped the elastic on one my first time trying to wear it, which is not an experience I recommend to people who like to avoid pain. After that my husband gave me a tutorial. It turns out that it’s quite difficult to get the elastics to stay in place if you have long, thick hair, which I do, so I have to come up with creative ways to keep my mask on.
I’ve also learned that if you wear an N95 mask it’s really important to brush your teeth before putting the mask on, because the mask does a really good job of keeping your breath from spreading outward… which means it keeps your breath trapped right in front of your nose. Imagine wearing an N95 mask after eating garlic and onions. Learn from my mistakes, people!
