This week, Laramie joins communities nationwide in honoring AmeriCorps Week 2024, from March 10th to March 16th. During this time, we recognize and appreciate the dedication of AmeriCorps members and volunteers who tirelessly serve our city and beyond.
AmeriCorps Week is a time to celebrate the profound impact of service on our communities. These individuals, whether responding to disasters, fighting hunger and homelessness, supporting education, or aiding seniors and veterans, embody the ethos of selfless service.
This year holds special significance as we mark 30 years of AmeriCorps. Since its inception, millions of Americans have pledged to serve, including those here in Laramie, where organizations like Foster Grandparents, Feeding Laramie Valley, United Way, and Family Promise host AmeriCorps VISTA members.
Laramie Foster Grandparents currently serve at Beitel Elementary, Laramie Middle School, Indian Paintbrush Elementary, UW Lab School and the Developmental Preschool.
As we celebrate AmeriCorps Week 2024, let us express gratitude to all who serve and recommit ourselves to the values of compassion and unity that define AmeriCorps.
