Ark Regional Services, a local non-profit, will be hosting their 8th annual fundraising event starting April 11th and running through April 16th. The event will be completely virtual due to Covid-19 concerns and consist of raffles, prizes, and auctions.
Ami Egge, the Vice President of Community Resources at Ark Regional Services, explains that a large portion of their budget supports staff wages and trainings. “With all of the money that we are raising, it will go to support for our staff. We believe that a highly trained work force results in higher quality services for the people who we support.”
The majority of items up for auction have been donated by local Laramie business, non-profits, and community members. Auction items include (but are not limited to) art work, gift certificates, a fly fishing package, a liquor basket, handmade furniture, a charcoal barbecue, a gardening package, and a meat bundle. Handmade items from local Laramie craftsman include a quilt and a coffee table. There will also be a gun raffle, proving to be highly popular event in past fundraisers.
“There is something for everybody,” Egge exclaims. “I am truly amazed every year at the generosity of our community, there are so many non-profits and businesses that continuously, year after year, support Ark Regional Services. It’s really a testament to our community.”
Community members also have the opportunity to create their own fundraising page to share on social media with family and friends. The personal fundraising page with the most amount of money and the page with the most amount of individual donations will receive prizes.
