A community event and fundraiser for the Downtown Laramie organization, Brewfest is a beloved tradition of the community with locally brewed beer and live music featured as a highlight of the occasion. Tickets went live on June 1st and will be available for purchase until sellout or the start of the event on the ninth of July.
Brewfest was created to support the businesses and overall experience of downtown. According to Shantel Anderson, Brewfest Chairman, this is the 16th year that the event will be held.
Anderson described the growth in popularity and participation of Brewfest, stating that the public favors the opportunity to be “socializing and hanging out with brewers and breweries, hanging out with friends and drinking good beer, along with listening to live music.” The past 16 years have seen rapid expansion, with the participation from breweries and demand for tickets increasing steadily. The event sold out of tickets in 2021 and is expected to do so again this year.
VIP tickets are available for those that wish to spend extra time with the brewers, with their allowed entry time beginning two hours earlier than general admission. Both types of tickets are for sale on Downtown Laramie’s webpage for the event at laramiemainstreet.org/brewfest.
“I for sure see Downtown continuing (the event), it’s allowed us to make improvements in the past including wayfinding, beautification, bike racks, and future downtown projects,” says Anderson. She also stated that regardless of whether a ticket is purchased, volunteers are actively being sought. Parties interested in assisting with the putting on of Brewfest can apply on laramiemainstreet.org/getinvolved.
