Cars in the Yard is a car show at the territorial prison to help benefit Heart to Heart of Laramie. This event is being put on by Working Class Car Club to help the Laramie community thrive.
Eli Pederson, president of Working Class Car Club explains, “It’s a pretty standard car show, we are going to have all different kinds of styles of cars from modern to classic, to trucks, and everything in-between and we have club members bringing motorcycles out. Throughout the day we will have a judging panel go through and judge cars and we will give out trophies throughout the day.”
Local vendors, including The Lodge Nutrition & Energy, will provide food and drinks.
Pederson explains, “We wanted to do something to give back to the community, so we decided to do this show…I think right now we have about 12 car seats to donate to Heart to Heart…We are also encouraging people who are registering vehicles to donate diapers and wipes as well.”
Community members can register ahead of time for $10, or at the door for $15. All of the money will go to Heart to heart. “We are encouraging the general public to come out and check everything out…admission fee is $9 (for persons without a vehicle to attend)…We have about 55 registered vehicles right now.” Says Pederson
Pederson says “The whole purpose of Working Class Car Club is to give the people of Laramie and the car community of Laramie something to do amidst the pandemic, and it’s turned into a much bigger thing…we think we can do a lot of good for the community, and we are bringing a lot of people together that share a common interest…We hope that this event will spark an annual event in the future, and it will be a different local charity each year.”
