The City of Laramie is extending an invitation to local non-profit organizations to apply for the 2024 Community Partner Funding grant. This annual opportunity, facilitated in conjunction with Albany County, offers financial support to eligible organizations striving to enhance the community’s well-being and quality of life.
Community Partners, as they are historically known, are entities not directly affiliated with municipal or county governments but receive funding to fulfill their missions or execute special projects. These organizations play a crucial role in bolstering the community’s fabric.
Applications for the grant are being accepted until March 12, 2024, providing a chance for organizations to secure vital support. The funding is typically allocated to organizations falling within three main categories:
1. Recreational/Arts and Culture: These organizations focus on promoting recreational, cultural, and leisure activities within the community. Past recipients include the Laramie Plains Museum, Laramie Depot, and Relative Theatrics.
2. Social Services: Agencies in this category aim to improve the well-being of individuals and families through various programs. Previous awardees include Laramie Reproductive Health, Downtown Clinic, and Climb Wyoming.
3. Civic or Quasi-Governmental: Organizations in this group work towards the overall improvement and economic health of the community, often collaborating with local governments. Examples include the Albany County Public Library and Laramie Regional Airport.
