Joining hands with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) – Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort (CARE) Section, the Wyoming Highway Patrol is ramping up efforts to ensure our highways stay safe during the St. Patrick’s Day season. This nationwide initiative sees law enforcement agencies across the country stepping up patrols to prevent accidents during high-risk periods.
CARE is not just about enforcement; it’s about sharing vital traffic data and strategies to prevent fatalities and serious injuries on our roads. By working together, law enforcement agencies aim to make our highways safer for everyone.
Colonel Tim Cameron of the Wyoming Highway Patrol expressed their commitment, stating, “Our participation in CARE reinforces our dedication to highway safety. Through increased patrols and enforcing traffic laws, we aim to significantly reduce accidents during this crucial period.”
Starting from March 9, 2024, at 00:01 hours until midnight on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2024, the Wyoming Highway Patrol will be on high alert. They’ll focus on monitoring speeding, enforcing seat belt laws, targeting impaired driving, educating about distracted driving, and collaborating with other agencies to enhance safety efforts.
Colonel Cameron emphasized, “Let’s make safety our priority during this enforcement period. By following traffic laws, staying alert, and driving responsibly, we can all contribute to safer roadways.”
