Children in Albany County can celebrate the return of the “Kids Out to Lunch” program, a free summer lunch initiative designed to provide nutritious meals to children up to the age of 18. Running from June 10 through August 9, the program offers lunches every weekday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Feeding Laramie Valley in LaBonte Park, located at 968 N. 9th Street.
Guardians are also welcome to join their children for lunch, with a suggested donation of $1.50. This program aims to fill the gap when school is not in session, ensuring that all children in the community have access to healthy and delicious meals throughout the summer. It also provides an opportunity for children and families to engage in activities and spend time with neighbors and friends in a fun and supportive environment.
This year’s program will feature meals crafted by the new head chef, Susan Izzo, along with the dedicated Kids Out to Lunch team. They are committed to preparing meals that are both visually appealing and nutritious, emphasizing the use of fresh, seasonal, and local produce whenever possible. Additionally, a variety of activities will be offered to encourage children to explore nature and their own creativity.
Feeding Laramie Valley invites everyone to join from June 10 to enjoy good food, make new friends, and strengthen community bonds. For more information, visit the Kids Out to Lunch web page at feedinglaramievalley.org, call 307-223-4399, or email info@feedinglaramievalley.org.
