Laramie Interfaith is delighted to announce that they have been awarded a generous grant of $2,500 from First Interstate Bank. This grant is dedicated to supporting Laramie Interfaith’s heartwarming holiday meal program, which ensures that households in need throughout Albany County can enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.
Feeding Our Community’s Spirit
In 2022, Laramie Interfaith distributed over 600 holiday meal kits to our community. Each kit is thoughtfully curated to include all the essential ingredients for a festive holiday meal: a succulent turkey, velvety mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, savory green bean casserole, flavorful stuffing, tangy cranberry sauce, indulgent pumpkin pie, wholesome corn, and mouthwatering cornbread.
Bringing Traditions to Every Table
Joshua Watanabe, the Executive Director of Laramie Interfaith, expressed his pride in running this cherished holiday program. He emphasized that, for those who are facing financial challenges, a holiday meal can often be an unattainable luxury.
“This program,” Watanabe stated, “offers our neighbors the opportunity to savor the same traditions enjoyed by families across the nation, complete with a roast turkey and all the delicious sides. Each year, the Laramie community comes together to support our families in need, and we are immensely grateful that First Interstate Bank is joining us in providing these meaningful meals this year.”
How to Participate
Sign-ups for the Thanksgiving meal program will commence in mid-September. An online sign-up form will be accessible on the Laramie Interfaith website at www.laramieinterfaith.org, as well as on their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Community members who prefer in-person sign-up options are welcome to visit the Laramie Interfaith food pantry, conveniently located at 712 Canby St. The pantry’s operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Laramie Interfaith will distribute the meal kits in mid-November.
