The Wanna Ride Foundation warmly invites all to the 3rd Annual Wanna Ride Memorial Ride and Scavenger Hunt on September 7, 2024. This heartfelt event, held in memory of LaWanna Windley-Ford, is a day dedicated to adventure, camaraderie, and community support.
Honoring LaWanna’s Legacy
The Wanna Ride Foundation, established to celebrate the life of LaWanna Windley-Ford, continues her legacy of kindness and a passion for Wyoming’s outdoors. LaWanna, who passed away at 51 on Mother’s Day 2022, is remembered through the foundation’s efforts to support scholarships at the University of Wyoming and to maintain off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails in Southeast Wyoming.
A Day of Fun and Purpose
Participants can expect a day filled with meaningful activities:
- Memorial Ride and Scavenger Hunt: The event begins at 2 Power Line Rd in Laramie, WY, with registration starting at 10:00 AM. For a $25 donation, participants can join the ride using any vehicle of their choice, or connect with someone who has space available.
- Scavenger Hunt Excitement: The hunt starts at 10:30 AM with a mission list full of entertaining tasks, such as recreating iconic movie scenes.
- Prizes Galore: Special prize locations along the route offer unique rewards for those who find them first.
- Photo Finish: After the ride, participants present their best mission photos to the judges at the “Finish Location,” where the most creative and well-executed photos are awarded top honors.
- Lunch and Laughs: A complimentary lunch at 2:00 PM, sponsored by TJ’s, provides a time for sharing stories and making new friends.
- More Ways to Give: The event features a live auction, punch box prizes, raffles, and a 50/50 draw, with all proceeds supporting the foundation’s mission.
