On Sunday, June 12th, the Laramie High School and University of Wyoming Zonta clubs are hosting a 5K fundraiser to raise funds for Heart Mothers. They are partnering with the Sugar Mouse, a local gourmet cupcake shop, which will provide a cupcake for each finisher of the race. Registration opens at 8:30 AM with an entry fee of $25. All proceeds being donated to Heart Mothers, a local organization that supports sex trafficking victims in Cambodia.
This is the 8th year that these organizations have hosted this event. Ruth Williams, owner of the Sugar Mouse Cupcake House and president of Heart Mothers, has been donating her baked creations since the fundraiser’s founding. Williams stated that she started “baking cupcakes to raise money to my girls in Cambodia.” The referenced girls are children that have been rescued and are recovering from sex trafficking.
Williams expressed her gratitude toward the Z Club and Laramie community at large for the support and assistance with making the Cupcake Chase fundraiser a success.
Meet at Laramie High School, Circle Drive, at 8:30 AM for registration and run for a great cause!
