Aloha, Laramie! Grab your lei and beach ball for a “Luau in Laradise,” hosted by the Laramie Community Recreation Center. Join this family-friendly luau on Friday, March 3 rd from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center.
This time of year it’s hard not to dream of warm weather and the summer season to come. While February is only halfway over, we can surely expect plenty of winter to still come our way. The Laramie Community Recreation Center hopes this event will provide some much needed community engagement and activity to kick the winter blues.
“Summer in Laramie is still a long way out and we need a little warm weather celebration to get us through,” says Recreation Coordinator, Laura Tangeman.
“Luau in Laradise” will feature fun, tropical events including music, hula lessons, a limbo contest, hula hoop competition, pineapple and coconut bowling, sandcastle building, a log roll and iceberg in the pools, and rubber ducky races. Guests can also enjoy a variety of refreshments, including ice cream served in tropical souvenir coconut shells. Guests will also have a chance to win prizes in the luau contest by showing up in their best luau or beach attire. Attend in your finest tropical summer hat, aloha shirt, lei, grass skirt, or other beach and luau attire to compete!
This family-friendly event is open to all ages and is free with Recreation Center membership or purchase of a day pass. The Laramie Community Recreation Center would like to thank The Sandra M.
