Laramie Interfaith Celebrates Installation of New Solar Panels with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Browse By

Laramie Interfaith is set to unveil its newly installed solar panels during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on June 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The installation of the solar panels was made possible after Laramie Interfaith was selected as a recipient of a 2023 funding award from Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky program. This renewable energy initiative is one of twelve community-based projects supported this year by Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky participants.

The Blue Sky program provides a straightforward and impactful way for Rocky Mountain Power customers to support cleaner, renewable energy in the region. Through this initiative, organizations are encouraged to apply for community project funds, which are backed by Blue Sky participants. These funds facilitate renewable energy installations in educational institutions, community centers, and cultural organizations across the area.

Joshua Watanabe, Executive Director of Laramie Interfaith, expressed his gratitude to former interim director Charlie Ksir for his pivotal role in the project.

“We would not have been able to complete this without Charlie’s dedication to the project and Interfaith,” said Watanabe. “Charlie has been working on making this happen since the organization started planning for the building expansion, and this was an original goal of our 2019 capital campaign. We are incredibly grateful for his work and to all our donors who helped make this happen.”
