Laramie Main Street has kicked off a new campaign aimed at boosting foot traffic to local businesses affected by the ongoing water system rehabilitation project along the Third Street corridor in the City of Laramie. The initiative seeks to incentivize customers to continue shopping locally despite the construction disruptions.
To encourage patrons to explore these impacted establishments, Main Street has provided each business with a $10 downtown gift certificate, to be hidden somewhere in their store starting from Wednesday, June 21. Customers are urged to visit the following businesses and search for these certificates, which can be used like a check at any downtown establishment:
- Daylight Donuts
- Hometown Garage
- Subway
- Grounds Internet and Coffee Lounge
- Bagelmakers
- Qdoba
- Travel Inn
- Link Cycling
- Laramie Respiratory
- Laramie Property Management Group & Laramie Auto Glass
- Hot Power Yoga
- ReVive – IV Vitamin Bar
- St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church
- Laramie Soup Kitchen & Clothing Cottage
In order to enhance the campaign, photos of the lucky winners will be shared, and customer testimonials will be gathered. Main Street has also created marketing materials, including posters, social media templates, and a business handbook, to support the affected businesses. These resources can be downloaded from the following link: https://laramiemainstreet.org/thirdstreet.
The current phase of the water system rehabilitation project, which began in April, is anticipated to conclude by October 2023. The construction involves the replacement of the old water main with a new one along the western side of Third Street, spanning from Lewis Street to Sheridan Street in a north-to-south direction. Furthermore, repairs will be carried out at the intersection of Third Street and Fetterman Street. The City acknowledges that this project will result in temporary inconveniences for area businesses and the public.
