This Saturday brings so many exciting events to Laramie as may springs us into the season. There will be everything from the Albany Country Conservation Expo, the Spring Showers Craft Fair, the May the Fourth Be With You Space Legend Workshop, the Run for the Kids…Kentucky Derby Watch Party, the Alibi Wood Fire Pizzaria Cinco de Mayo kickoff, Home on the Range Animal Haven volunteer work, and the Beginner Country Swing Dance Lessons.
Laramie Rivers Conservation District is hosting the Albany County Conservation Expo is a free community event located at Laramie Ice and Event Center. The event will feature all areas of conservation including wildlife and habitat management, gardening and food production, alternative energy, small acreage land ownership, natural resource conservation, and so much more. There will be over 35 local exhibitors at the Expo as well as door prizes, demos, raffles, games, and more.
If you’re into crafts, check out the Spring Showers Craft Fair put on by Laramie Job’s Daughters located at 401 E Ivinson Ave. The craft fair will have everything you can think of and more including the perfect, unique gifts for anyone including mom’s for Mother’s Day. The Spring Showers Craft Fair brings May Flowers Saturday Morning at 9 with all your something special needs.
If star wars is your thing, check out the May the Fourth Be With You Space Legend Workshop This Space Legends Workshop features Wood Squares and the newest project option, “Brush Between the Lines” using outlines and coloring techniques for imaginative creativity and endless fun. This event is hosted by Hammer & Stain Laramie located at 1660 North 4th St. Come check out this Space Legend Workshop at 2 this Saturday.
The Developmental Preschool & Day Care Center is hosting the Run for the Kids…Kentucky Derby Watch Party at the Gryphon Theatre located at 710 E Garfield St. Come dressed in all your Kentucky Derby attire to watch the Derby as if it were in real life. This fundraiser will help raise money for the Developmental Preschool & Day Care Center to help provide direct services to children birth to 5 years old with disabilities. Be one of the few to witness the first annual “Run for the Kids” this Saturday at 2.
Kick off Cinco de Mayo early with a delicious helping of the popular Mahi-Mahi fish tacos all day long. If you’re in the mood for something more classic, check out the pork quesadilla and vaquero beef on special paired with margaritas or Pacifico. The Alibi Wood Fire Pizzaria is excited to celebrate Cinco de Mayo starting at 11 Saturday morning and continuing into Sunday.
Looking to get involved in the community through volunteer work? Home on the Range Animal Haven is looking for Volunteers to help with Social Media, Fundraising, Grant Writing, Carpentry, Small Engine Repair, Handyman Projects, Landscaping, and more. Come make a friend and make a difference this Saturday at 2, located at the Albany County Public Library on 310 S. 8th st. for more information.
Looking to learn how to Country Swing Dance? Beginner Country Swing Dance Lessons are a great way to get your moves grooving. Laramie Dance Center is excited to have Dubanski Dance’s Ashlyn Dubanski teach Country Swing Dance to beginners with special guest Bailey Vogler. The foundational moves will be taught from 6-7 to learn the framework, footwork, connections, and timing of dancing. Then Beginners will start from 7-8 building on the techniques from the foundations class. This teaches effective following, tricks, and new skills to keep you moving on the dance floor. The course is $5 a person to attend one or both classes of your choosing. Check out the Country Swing Dance Class located at 170 N 2nd St. Suite C. The entrance will be through the glass door near the light pole off of Fremont St.
