Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield is all set to ignite the stage for the Buchanan Center Special Events 2023-2024 season. The University of Wyoming Arts and Sciences Auditorium will come alive on September 1 with the sounds of her music.
The doors will swing open at 6:00 p.m., and the evening’s entertainment will commence with the opening act at 7:00 p.m. The spotlight will then shine on Natasha Bedingfield herself as she takes the stage at 8:00 p.m.
Opening for Bedingfield is country-pop artist Jamie Hansen, a Laramie native now based in Jackson. Known for her unabashedly honest and relatable lyrics, Hansen released her first album, “Heart Like Mine,” in 2020. In 2021, the Nashville Songwriters Association called Hansen “One to Watch” after the release of her song “Somewhere in Wyoming.” Hansen has released seven singles since then, including her latest song “Lucky Enough.”

Lexis Hamilton, the Buchanan Center program coordinator and presenter, shared her excitement about this incredible opportunity: “We are thrilled to be able to present a top artist as dynamic and inspiring as Natasha Bedingfield at the University of Wyoming.” This sentiment is echoed by many, with the aim of bringing exciting acts to the local audience.
Natasha Bedingfield’s musical journey has taken her from New Zealand to southeast London, shaping her into the remarkable artist she is today. With hits like “Unwritten,” “Pocketful of Sunshine,” and “Soulmate,” she’s dominated international charts. Her versatile music has also found its way into more than 20 films.
“Unwritten” stands as an anthem for many, even earning the status of an unofficial graduation song. Its timeless quality was revived through a TikTok challenge in 2021, and it even garnered an MTV Award nomination.
But Bedingfield’s talents don’t stop there. She graced the stage as “Pepper” on Fox’s “The Masked Singer” TV show. And beyond her music, she’s an advocate for climate change awareness, using her platform to make a meaningful impact.
The Buchanan Center Special Events initiative, now in its second season, aims to bring enriching cultural experiences to the University of Wyoming campus and the wider Laramie community. Collaborating with UW’s fine and performing arts departments, as well as prominent touring groups and artists, the series is committed to offering top-notch entertainment to students and residents alike.
So mark your calendars, Laramie! The Buchanan Center Special Events season is about to kick off with a bang thanks to Natasha Bedingfield. Don’t miss out on what promises to be an unforgettable evening of live art and entertainment.
