Wyoming-based country pop artist Jamie Hansen is back with a powerful new single, “Word on the Street” dropping May 6th, 2022. This is a sequel to her last release “The Writing’s on the Wall”. Hansen is continuing to build her brand with her impressive songwriting, creative music videos, and online presence.
A snarky goodbye to a love gone wrong, “Word on the Street” holds no reservations. From the perspective of the presumably ‘bad guy’ in the relationship, the song proves her reputation wasn’t fully deserved.
Hansen said, “Writing this song was so much fun, because it was all about the lyrics. I wanted to nail this one, with the perfect balance of a familiar concept combined with a unique twist. To get it right, I teamed up with Wyoming artist Jared Rogerson and Nick Sullivan in the writer’s room. My favorite lyric out of the entire song is ‘It’s a Hail Mary; it ain’t a damn vow’, because telling someone you love them at the end of a relationship is a last-ditch effort. I loved the idea of it being used almost like a prayer. With an underlying sadness to the song, “Word on the Street” is about the character taking back the narrative, which is incredibly powerful.”
The single will be followed by both lyric and music videos. The music video for “Word on the Street” was filmed at the Buckhorn Bar in Laramie.
“Word at the Street” was produced by legendary producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) and the talented Zach Radcliff at Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter).
