The Wyoming Women’s Foundation (WYWF) announces the opening of applications for scholarships to attend the highly anticipated Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt in 2024. The hunt, renowned for its camaraderie and skill-building opportunities, invites women and girls of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply for this unique adventure in the heart of Wyoming’s wilderness.

Thanks to the support of generous sponsors, the WYWF can extend scholarships to cover various expenses associated with the hunt. From first-time hunters to seasoned markswomen, all are encouraged to seize this opportunity. Whether you’re a local resident or hail from out of state, there’s a place for you at the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt.

This year, the hunt will award at least nine scholarships, each tailored to specific demographics. Among these are scholarships earmarked for US Military veterans, Wyoming single mothers, and a general pool open to all applicants.

The scholarships cover an array of benefits, including a professionally-guided hunt with all associated fees covered, access to loaner hunting equipment if needed, transportation to and from the hunt location, four days and three nights of lodging and meals, participation in post-hunt activities, attendance at Friday’s auction dinner banquet, and the chance to forge lasting friendships with fellow hunters.

While participants are responsible for their travel arrangements, the WYWF endeavors to facilitate ride shares wherever possible. Successful applicants will be required to pay a deposit upon acceptance ($200 for Wyoming residents and $350 for out-of-state participants), which is fully refundable upon attendance. This deposit helps defray the cost of hunting licenses, ensuring that every scholarship recipient has the opportunity to join the hunt.

To apply, interested individuals must submit a 300-word essay detailing their reasons for wanting to participate in the event and their expectations for the experience. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis starting in May.
