WyoGives Day, a state-wide day of giving, is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Wyoming nonprofits. In 2023, the Albany County SAFE Project received tremendous support, raising $13,300, thanks to generous donors. This year, the community is encouraged to participate again on July 10th, 2024, to help continue this vital work.

Community Champions

Two local businesses stood out in 2023 for their exceptional support. Seek Yoga Studio hosted donation-based classes, contributing 100% of the proceeds to the SAFE Project early on WyoGives Day to qualify for matching funds. Known for its commitment to community well-being, Seek Yoga frequently organizes fundraisers that address physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Core Legal, LLC, also made a significant impact by providing a $1,000 match on WyoGives Day. The Laramie-based firm is passionate about assisting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and child abuse, offering services across Wyoming in family law, Title IX, and protection orders.

SAFE Project’s Mission

The Albany County SAFE Project is dedicated to advocating for and empowering survivors of stalking, intimate partner, family, and sexual violence. The organization focuses on prevention and improving community response through education and awareness. With a 24-hour hotline and offices in Laramie and at the University of Wyoming, SAFE Project offers free and confidential services, including emergency shelter, safety planning, protection orders assistance, court accompaniment, and financial aid.

SAFE Project also plays a crucial role in community education, providing prevention programs in local schools, hosting awareness events, and collaborating with first responders and other agencies to enhance victim services.

The Impact of Donations

Donations significantly impact the SAFE Project’s ability to provide critical services. In 2023, the organization served 429 clients, including 107 student survivors, and distributed $102,688 in financial aid for essentials such as rent, gas, and groceries. The shelter provided safe housing for 65 individuals and 13 pets, totaling 3,190 bednights.

Thanks to community support, SAFE Project completed essential renovations to their shelter, ensuring it remains a secure refuge for families escaping violence.
