Aspiring entrepreneurs in Laramie have an opportunity to gain valuable insights into starting their own businesses at an upcoming workshop hosted by the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network.
Titled “Start Your Own Business,” the workshop will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 2:30-4 p.m. at the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance Building (2208 Grand Ave.). What to Expect:
Presented by Jim Drever, Wyoming SBDC Network regional director for Albany and Carbon counties, the workshop is designed to help attendees explore the realities of business ownership. Participants will learn:
- The pros and cons of starting a business.
- How to assess their skills and knowledge for business success.
- Strategies for researching their business ideas and identifying target markets.
- Available free resources for business development.
- How to access funding options for launching or expanding their business.
About the Presenter:
Drever brings extensive experience in business development, having worked as a marketing director, project manager, and small business consultant. He is also a co-founder of CyberWyoming, an organization focused on cybersecurity initiatives in the state.
The Wyoming SBDC Network provides expertise to help Wyoming residents start, grow, and manage their businesses. It is hosted by the University of Wyoming, with support from the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
