Dilnoza Khasilova, an assessment and scholarship of teaching and learning specialist at the University of Wyoming (UW), has been awarded the Hugh M. Jenkins Award for Excellence in Community Programming by NAFSA: Association of International Educators. This honor recognizes her decade-long dedication to international education and community programming.
The Hugh M. Jenkins Award celebrates individuals committed to promoting global understanding and international exchange within their communities. Khasilova will receive the award at the annual NAFSA Conference & Expo in New Orleans later this month.
Since 2012, Khasilova has significantly contributed to UW’s international and intercultural programming. Her initiatives include creating the World Language and Culture Program, organizing cultural events, launching the WyoGlobal alumni network, and coordinating programs that connect exchange scholars and international students with the broader community. She has also promoted global cultural awareness through outreach with local K-12 schools and Laramie County Community College’s Albany County campus.
Khasilova expressed her gratitude, stating, “It is an honor to be selected by my field colleagues across the country through my national professional organization, NAFSA.”
Khasilova holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and a doctorate in education/literacy studies from UW.
