Laramie Connections is making a significant impact on the local community, embodying the spirit of hope and compassion. Their mission is clear: a single grace-filled action can indeed make a difference. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to serving the community by filling gaps and building connections with compassion. They offer various services at no cost, partnering with other community organizations to provide complementary gap services and volunteer resources. Every Sunday evening at First Baptist Church, Laramie Connections offers a free hot meal and meaningful conversations, ensuring no one goes hungry over the weekend. They also provide medical and lifestyle transportation, volunteer resourcing, and a weekly faith gathering, fostering a sense of community and support.
In the spring of 2022, Laramie Connections was humbled and honored to be awarded the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance’s 2021 Non-Profit of the Year.
Today, Laramie Connections joins numerous nonprofits across the state in celebrating WyoGives Day. This remarkable 24-hour online fundraising event, organized by the Wyoming Nonprofit Network, is dedicated to uniting the state in support of its nonprofits. Scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, 2024, which also marks Wyoming’s Statehood Day, WyoGives provides a platform for individuals to search and donate to various nonprofits making a daily difference in Wyoming communities. Laramie Connections will be fundraising in three different locations today; follow their Facebook page for updates on these locations. To donate directly to Laramie Connections, visit their WyoGives page.
In 2023, WyoGives raised over $4 million, thanks in part to a $1 million gift from the Hughes Charitable Foundation and other generous matching funds. This year’s event promises to be even more impactful, with donations being boosted by the Hughes Charitable Foundation Incentive Pool. The platform at WyoGives.org offers an easy-to-use interface for donors to find and contribute to nonprofits across the state, ensuring that their contributions make a meaningful impact.
Nonprofits are the unsung heroes of our communities, addressing societal gaps and advocating for change. They save lives, protect the environment, inspire through art and music, and preserve history for future generations. However, their work is challenging and continually faces the hurdle of securing adequate funding. WyoGives provides an opportunity for the community to support these vital organizations, enabling residents of Albany County and across Wyoming to contribute to the nonprofits that tirelessly work to maintain and improve the quality of life that residents cherish.
