Have you ever wondered what goes on in a place like the Regency Retirement Residence home here in Laramie? The RRR is a retirement community for people 55 and older for independent living. The RRR provides a sense of community to all those that live there and more. Throughout the months, the RRR holds events to keep everyone connected. During the Holidays, they have special gatherings to celebrate.

To kick off Valentines, they celebrated with their very own pie social, where the only request was to bring, bake, or buy a pie to share with the community. There was ice cream, cool whip, and coffee as well. During this event, Hospice brought cards and roses for all the residents from AARP. Social events like this provide a connection between the residents and fill them with the holiday spirit.

Outside of holiday events, the RRR provides many activities for folks to participate in throughout the week. There are events that get the community engaging in physical exercise like chair yoga and walking Wednesdays, as well as activities that get them communicating with one another. These activities consist of game time on Sundays where they play games like Bingo, Mexican Train Dominoes, and card games of all sorts. Other activities to get the community communicating with one another would be coffee and conversation Sunday mornings and social hour on Thursdays. There are also movie nights to kick off the weekend.

Along with fun group activities, the RRR has individual activities like puzzles and coloring held in their library area. There is also a piano and computer for community use. The public library delivers books every first Thursday of the month to help bring books to the seniors at RRR. There is always something going on to ensure something for everyone. As the spring kicks off, the RRR is checking into the AARP online Line Dancing class as well as a new class forming for Beading and Needle Point. The RRR also holds clinics once a month to keep everyone up to date on things outside the RRR. There is a blood pressure clinic once a month along with many workshops covering everything from potential scams to fundamentals of

Groups come to the RRR to help out this community. In the past year, some of the groups that have participated in events at RRR are: That One Trio, the Melodees, Wyoming Nonprofit Network, Wyoming Game and Fish, Helios Trio, Dance Studio B, the Happy Jacks, Laramie Recreation Center, Miles of Smiles Trishaw Program, German musician Friedemann Stihler, J & J Second Chance, THE BIG EVENT, the Laramie Eppson Center for Seniors, Hospice of Laramie, Wyotech Volunteers, Frontier Cycles of Laramie, Fox Run Golf Club, Human Bean of Laramie, Laramie Police Department, the AARP Wyoming team, and many more.
